About Us

Our Story:

In the early 1960s, a Pentecostal evangelist preached the Acts 2:38 message at the fairgrounds. During that revival, several families received the Holy Ghost and soon began praying for the Lord to send a pastor who could continue the work that had been started.

In the mid-1970s, this small but committed congregation marched from 17th and Lamine to their newly built church at 2805 S. Ohio. Over the years, the church experienced seasons of growth and decline as many families transitioned in and out of Sedalia. Yet the congregation remained steadfast—faithful in prayer and confident that God had a purpose for Sedalia and the surrounding communities.

Steve Palmer, an East Coast native stationed at Whiteman AFB, first encountered the Apostolic message in Sedalia in the early 1980s—a moment that changed the course of his life. God soon called him into evangelistic ministry, leading him to preach across Missouri, the Midwest, and even Africa.

Sedalia became more than a temporary assignment; it became home. Here, Steve built his life—working as a Project Engineer, launching a business, earning a master’s degree, and serving in multiple community programs.

Today, he stands as pastor of the very church where he first heard the life-changing message of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Our Beliefs:

We are passionate about building a church that reflects the power and purpose of the Apostolic ministry seen in the early disciples. Our mission is to carry the Great Commission forward—just as Jesus commanded before ascending into heaven. Everything we believe and practice is anchored in the teachings and bold preaching of the Apostles, recorded throughout the Book of Acts.
